Hi! I’m Amy.
I’m a musician who is passionate about wellness.
As a musician, I specialize in viola and I also play violin, guitar, and piano. I perform and I teach. Over the last 20 years of my music journey I’ve been in orchestras, bands, recording studios, music school, and traveled the world. It’s been a thrill and I’ve picked up a lot of tools for learning and playing music better that I want to share.
On the health side, I’m passionate about optimizing my wellness and helping others along their own health journeys. After years of injuries, health declination, and generally feeling down, I finally took my health into my own hands. Through trial and error, lots of reading and podcasts, I’ve reshaped my mind and body, and have nearly healed the tendinitis that I thought would destroy my music career.

The purpose of this blog is to share the things I’ve learned in hopes that it will help and inspire others. Every week you’ll find new posts about all things music and wellness. Some topics will include:
- Practice routines, habits and techniques
- Reviews of equipment and supplies
- Keeping a practice journal
- Mindfulness practices
- Exercises designed for musicians
- Plus new discoveries I make along the way!
I believe (and there are studies that prove) that learning music makes you better at everything else you do. Moreover it increases your self-awareness and that makes the world a better place. In this time of increasing detachment, distraction, and influencers, I think we all need more self-awareness. With more self-awareness I think people are happier and more understanding of one another. That’s my “better place.”
Bottom line, I started this blog because I want to create a space to share my knowledge and my passions. In many ways I’ve been given a restart to this life and I believe it’s my duty to give back in any way that I can.
